After all the comments on the crowd I thought I’d explain the background of the concert.
K&G played on the cities main square as part of the World Cup Alpine Skiing event that was being held in the city that weekend. K&G were organized to play a free concert for the public after the official draw was made for the skiers starting positions.

So this wasn’t a concert where paying K&G fans had come out to see them but rather people that were there for a free event, out of curiosity or by chance. A large majority probably didn’t have a clue who Kool & the Gang were or knew any of their music. Basically this is the reason behind their inertness, but also to be fair; in the video the crowd may not be getting down but honestly they’re not imitating street posts either.
