  • Mozart said he disliked the flute but here it is very hard to believe.

  • Bah, Fnedi!!!!

  • Free scores are available at the imslp site.

  • a flute quartet is made up of a flute, violin, viola, and cello because who in their right mind would want to listen to four flutes.

  • It is a bit confusing, but it is no different to the fact that a combination of piano, violin and cello is called a piano trio. With this piece, Mozart himself called it a flute quartet so who are we to argue I guess... :)

  • wouldny you think it would be called quartet for flute and violin cello and viola or something. because one just assumes it means for flutes, you know?

i understand the tradition thing i just dont understand why its the tradition.

    lol

  • A flute quartet regularly consists of a flute, a violin, a viola and a cello. That's tradition. There are only a handful of flute quartets for four flutes.

  • ooh! me too!! please!!!

  • i really dont understand why this one is always called "flute quartet" theres only one flute!
