Jordan's king receives Hamas leader

Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal is in Jordan on his first official visit since he was forced to leave in 1999 for what authorities called "illicit and harmful" activities.

The trip on Sunday by Meshaal, who was accompanied by Qatar's crown prince, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is seen as a rapprochement between the Jordanian monarchy and the Palestinian Islamist movement.

Jordan's King Abdullah held talks with Meshaal, who is usually based in Damascus, and his five-member delegation of top Hamas officials including deputy chairman Mousa Abu Marzouk. Sheikh Tamim attended the talks as a mediator.

Al Jazeera's Nisreen El Shamayleh reports from Amman.

Again, not all Zionists think the same way, there are extremists and moderates (like in every group in life). Moderates are usually those who believe in the two-state solution, as long as Israel maintains its Jewish majority. From there the saying: TWO-states, for TWO-peoples (one for each group). @vanvanbluz We are Zionists because we share a love for Israel, and we support the idea of having a Jewish in the ancient Eretz Yisrael/Palestine. Not every Zionist thinks the same way, some are extremists and some aren't. Some want peace and are willing to sacrifice things for it, and some don't. Same with Palestinians, some want the whole land, some want to make sacrifices for peace.

@vanvanbluz I'm a Jew and I've been around Jews my whole life. I've met left and right wing Jews, religious and secular, Mizrahi and Ashkenazi, from many nationalities. And I can honestly say I've never met one who disliked the existence of Israel. I've seen a few online, like Chomsky and Finkelstein, and also a fringe called Neturei Karta (who are small in number but very loud), and that's how I know they exist. But I'd be lying if I said they represent more than a mere 1%.
