FFXI - A Shantotto Ascension - Mission 10 Battle

Mission 10 - Battaru Royale - Upon Collecting elemental saps in Toraimarai Canal, you head to Full Moon Fountain to fight against 8 of Shantotto's 8 evil Elemental Fomor Clones. They each have an element, cast spells of that type (Fire, Thundaga, Freeze II, etc.), plus a few extra ones (the fire elemental taru casts Virus, a fire based disease effect). At around 50% HP, a taru clone will stop and summon the corrisponding elemental avatar, who will proceed to astral flow on you. You can't stop it, but it's fairly weak (when you have the elemental saps from the previous mission). But it can still hit hard if you're unlucky, and don't have shell and such.

The plan was to run in, sleepga everything, and take care of the dark elemental clone first, since he'll resist sleepga. Unfortunately, the mobs spread out too far, and not everyone got hit. However, despite deaths, I managed to stay alive with some good blink tanking, and with emergency cures from the mages. I had to solo the last few alone, though I wouldn't have survived if I didn't have healing, and everyone else trying to kite/sleep the mobs. If I had all of them on me we'd have failed.

Despite difficulties, we managed to win. Thank you Burning Circle, and thank you pickup people.

Awesome fight man, nothing more exciting than having your whole team wipe while you and select others manage to keep it going. Just got my 8 saps, and I'm looking forward to this in a few hours.
