OBP is far more important, and his career OBP (which is around .348-.350) is above average. That's it. Decent base stealer, but that's it. He doesn't even have much extra-base hit power.
One thing's for sure, if I was a ChiSox fan, I'd be pissed at Guillen continuing to start him in the leadoff spot despite his struggles.

@bigbo3488 05 and 06? what a shitty mess. in 06 he was in the last place cubs. 07 he was in the 4th place dodgers, and 08 he was just pushed around, yet he still played for an organization that didnt want him too, and in 09 he came out and did way better then manny did. and had 117 hits in 380 At bats with a .308 average. In his first full year he batted .327 with 202 hits. I bet if you got jp on a decent team that would start him we would see a lot more out of him.
