This video contains specific information about making the Basket blocks with Set B in the Rachel's Baskets Log Cabin quilt, but the information can be applied to any cutting and chain piecing with basic template sets.

:45 Pick 18 of the 34 fabrics in the kit for baskets. Review the layout for cutting.

2:25 Cutting strips using Set B templates. Put fabrics for half-square triangles right sides together before cutting.

3:47 See actual rotary cutting tips and use of rotating mat.

4:29 We cut strips first when quick cutting half-square triangles with templates, just like when quick cutting with a ruler.

4:58 Close-up views of cutting triangles, using rotating mat and nipping off dog-ear corners.

6:15 The triangles are ready to chain pieces - no dog ears to overlap or get caught in the hole in the throat plate. Ends by showing enough chain pieced triangles for one basket.

Thanks for watching. You can see a full shot of the quilt on our Web site at http://www.frommarti.com/show_LC_bskt.shtml The pattern is in Marti's book Log Cabin ABCs and on our website.
