Psoriasis Cure Now!: "Affected With Psoriasis" :60

(New Yorker Affected With Psoriasis) V.O.:
My father has it. My mother has it. I have it. And, if I have a child or children, he or she just might have it. What am I talking about here? PSORIASIS. It's not a good feeling to have especially when you had it since a kid. People look at it and act like I got some kind of contagious disease or something. Sure it helps with prescription but it still doesn't make it go away, you know? Not to mention it's pretty costly without insurance. Yeah, I deal with the pain, mostly the inner pain. My bed sheet can get bloody because I keep scratching. I cover myself up always. So, I wait for the one day, Congress pushes really hard to find a cure so I can run out in sun, you know? In my shirts with my gal ... I just hope that it's not too late but not for me, for her. She's kind of worried about her weight and cellulite. Oh, yeah, she wants to know, will there be cure for that too?

ABOUT PSORIASIS CURE NOW Contest Entry:

This is a 60 second PSA of a male affected by Psoriasis since a child. He suffers with well over 125 million people throughout the world: 7.5 million in the USA alone. There is NO absolute cure for psoriasis. Sure, there are many treatments; but, each has a different level of desired success for each person affected.

Psoriasis is a chronic disease affecting both sexes. It is characterized by thick, red, silvery, scaled patches of the skin located on the elbows, knees, other parts of the legs, scalp, lower back, face, palms, soles of the feet, fingernails, toenails, genitals, and inside the mouth. It is most common (getting it) between the ages of 15 and 35; although, it can occur at any age. There is no known cause or cure to date. However, there is evidence that genetics and the immune system may be involved. Recent research has pointed to an abnormality of the immune system's T-cells as the source.

Dedicated to a greater good, Michael Paranzino, president of Psoriasis Cure Now leads the way, helping to find a cure, to strengthen the federal government's commitment to research on psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. • dear viewers.good news!

my 5 year old son had psoroasis on his back, arms, buttocks and behind the knees.we thought that it was from his bed wetting but found out that it was psoriasis.

we simply used organic apple cider vinagar to rub him down with twice every day.the psoriasis is gone now.thank god.it really works.the acv stings but that helps kill the psoriasis.after as few days, the stinging will go away but you must keep up applying the acv until it goes away.look no further.good luck 2 all

  • @brooklynyte4ever Thank you. That's great news. It's so sad when you hear children suffering, let alone adults. I will have to tell my fiancée about that great bit of info. I began taking vinegar detox baths rt before I go to bed. I'm hoping that it will help reduce the inflammation/pain. I had a very rough yr battling Breast Cancer: 6 mos. of chemo, surgeries, combined w/all the meds...& I just began my 2nd fight w/Lyme Disease. Tough to keep the skin clear. Hey, best of luck to you & your son~

  • Hi my nmae is glenn. I live in london england. I have had psoriasis really bad on my trunk since my father does 2 years ago. Is this normal to happen after a death in the family member dies. Also for you lot suffering from scalp psoriasis. You have to try etrivex shampoo its amazing product ask your local dermatogist

  • @rockie0708 I'm sorry about your loss, Glenn. I've noticed after a death or stressful situation, a disease or some kind of health condition always appears to pop up w/people. My fiancée got his psoriasis after being in a coma (bike accident). We've been w/each other for 5 1/2 yrs now; I feel for you, how very painful, frustrating it can be. I'm 6 wks into chemo & lost all my hair; my scalp grew so irritated. My fiancée said it reminded him of his...It's under control w/medicine. Best wishes 2 U~

  • I read today in a report of the New England Journal of Medicine...a new drug called ustekinumab (Stelara) appears to be more effective than etanercept (Enbrel), acc. to the results of a comparison. "After 12 wks. of treatment, 67.5% of the patients receiving 45 mg of Stelara had a 75% improvement in their condition, acc. to the psoriasis area-and-severity index, as did 73.8 percent of those receiving 90 mg of Stelara." Maybe, it's just 'hope' for those who are not responding well to Enbrel...
