I believe you made a bit of a mistake, Lateralus. SotC is the prequel, yes, but Wander (SotC's main character) is Ico's ancestor...not descendant. The baby you see and the end of SotC is Wander turned infant...but with horns (obviously cursed by Dormin). Since that time every young boy born with horns has been sacrificed due to the curse. Ico was simply the next in line...and the only horned boy who managed to escape his fate.

I have a theory: first, I think TLG will be a prequel to SotC. Just a hunch.
Second, I think Emon from SotC was part of the royal family, maybe an advisor or priest. The queen is the heiress to the throne. Anyway, after Wander has been reborn as a baby, possessed (or cursed) by Dormin. I believe the power to resurrect the dead is within him, and all of his descendants. The queen wishes to achieve immortality, which is why she captures every child with horns, because she knows they have the powe

I always liked to imagine that wander wasn't merely Ico's ancestor, but that he became Ico. I know it's not true, but it makes the ending of Collosus a little easier to handle for me.
