My sister is a hairstylist - so I know this is soo true! It is the same for designers. I studied interior design but quickly realized that it was not a good fit for me mainly because getting people to trust you (and many times their marital/family environment) with the design of their homes takes more than a good eye for design.
I think many designers don't get this when working one on one with clients -its not about your vision. But I'd give a good designer or hairstylist free reign...
