  • Oh wow! Cereus!! I have a bottle of Cereus #4 and have enjoyed the sample of #5 (now called #6). Might you be able to review #4 and #6? I'd like to hear what you think of those. The one you have looks like it might have been #11. I have not tried a sample of #11 or #14.

The one you had there, what's it like?

  • @ClassicsHouse I have #7. If you like I can send you a decant.

  • IS IT FLAMEABLE!... BLOW A FIREBALL

  • @onedollarjuggalo I keep cheap perfume on hand for that very reason.

  • I have combination skin that makes perfumes smell really strong.

Philosophy signature fragrance is my signature scent. On me, it smells like the cleanest, freshest water and on myself, it does last.

When I find this, I buy it. i don't smell any of the other scents you describe, haha so I guess it's that old chemistry thing....to compare, Avon Absynthe smells too strong on me and I find Bath and Body Works citruses really citrusy.

  • @Evange Oh, thanks, but that's okay. I've smelled a sample of it before and need another sample again to try it. It's a really funny one that #7. It's really nostalgic for me, like I've smelled it before, but not sure where.

How do you enjoy #7? Do you wear it yourself, or is it for someone else?

  • BTW, on the bottom of the Cereus bottle there should be a number. As all 5 kinds are all "Pour Homme", the numbers are the way to tell them apart...apart from fragrance color.

  • That was great - thank you for the description of the scent, and how to put it to best use.

Also, I totally get "smells nice... but smells like man!" I definitely get a generally generic feeling from most men's themed scents, much like there's a generic sweet scent in a lot of women's themed scents. It's not hard to tell who the scents are marketed toward when they go that route, so I say, "Gender neutral... feh. Clearly not what they were aiming for with this one." ^_~

  • Thank you for the review. I've never smelled that fragrance but I'm so allergic to various fragrances. I've used the tester for the "graces", and I enjoy the scent of AG and PG but I just can't tolerate them to my chagrin :) Victoria's Secret has a pleasant smelling vanilla called Vanilla Lace and I usually get a lot of compliments as some have said that it smells a bit like chocolate ;) Just a word to the wise to be very careful with inhaling perfume or other chemicals as they are toxins :)

  • Thumbs Up my Friend!!
