Alternative icon, The Brunswick Hotel, where many a band and performer got their start, over the years, has been the victim of a wrecking ball, the day before a meeting was to be held to talk about designating it as a heritage landmark. Another one bites the dust. Get involved in heritage and preservation affairs before it is too late in your own town. Don't take your local icons for granted.
