@hrhbgbhrhbgb Apparently Vince Mcmahon does. He reads the Observer too. UFC prez Dana White also listens to what Meltzer has to say.
As for what he's done for MMA or wrestling...that's a stupid question. You might as well ask that about journalists in may sport.

I don't understand why these knuckleheads insist on trying to draw comparisons between Pro Wrestling and Ultimate Fighting... It's like trying to compare a war with a movie about a war...
-
Amen broo, he's just a guy who runs his mouth and likes to criticize this and that, when he didnt do anything for the business, take everyhing he says as just an opinnion
-
what has he done in wrestling or in mma
i mean who cares about what he thinks he's a nobody

Thsts not true, he has a business, and it isn't being funded on MMA fan subscribing to his newsletter. Its unresonable to think that Meltzer the ultimate wrestling purist of all people's enjoyment of wrestling hasn't suffered like millions of others.
-
To be fair to Meltzer (ugh can't believe I'm saying that) he has attended 5 live Raw events in California this year and said he enjoyed all of them so I don't think he hates wrestling its just he's following the trends in combat sports but if he hated wrestling, he wouldnt be covering it.

I agree.
Meltzer may 'know his stuff' but his main talent is being so totally comfortable in his own arrogant speculation that he comes across as an authority. He's so self-assured of his own utterly subjective opinion that people take his word as gospel.
His opinion on Mike Von Erich is pretty much the truth. But it's stating the obvious. The way he put it across was harsh and arrogant, he could have said the same thing without sneering 'pathetic'.
Dave Meltzer knows Pro-Wrestling, after all he has devoted his entire adulthood covering it, most everything you read on the "spyware newz" sites is copied and pasted from his newsletter. Unfortunately in recent years he could care less about the wrestling industry because UFC has become the "in" fad and as long as that continues to do better business then that is what Da Meltz' will prominently cover.
