On Friday Sept. 22nd, against the Pittsburg Pirates, Padres pitcher Chris Young came two outs away from the first no-hitter in Padres history. With a runner on first, he fell behind pinch hitter (and former Padre) Joe Randa 3-0 before coming back with a strike. This video is what happens on the following 3-1 pitch. Unfortunetly Young would not complete the game. But Cla Meredith would finish it as the Padres won 6-2. The Padres have still not had a no-hitter in their 37 years of existence.

  • i took a perfect game all the way till the final out in an allstar tournament couples years ago...those infield singles usually seem to be the killers...id rather give up a HR like CY did that let some infield dinker ruin my no no

  • @blazeruzamaki67

At least you werent a Tigers fan on June 2.

    =(

  • Fuck joe randa he runied chris youngs no no now were gonna have to wait again thanks alot joe

  • Chris Young was 4 outs away from having a perfect game against the Brewers.

Jeff Karstens also came close to pitching a perfect game too (against the D-backs; retired first 23 batters).

  • just with one swing he lost his no hitter n his 9 inning shuouts damn! happen to me in a videogame only one pitch left to do a perfect game n bang there it is a homer

  • no youre wrong...his name was in the mitchell report as a person who used steroids

  • its funny when he got to a fight with derrek lee..

  • I dont hate you milton, but your statement is incorrect. if you watch him play--his mechanics are perfect. he completely hides the baseball during his windup. opposing batters have said things like "the ball is impossible to pick up coming out of his hand" and "before i knew where the ball was, it was already in the catchers mitt"

  • buerle was one sammy sosa away from a "perfect game" lol, but still he had a no-no.

  • F U MILTONMAN
