Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge GranFondo 2009, October 3, started in Santa Rosa, California, and headed west toward the ocean, through Occidental, north across the Russian River, then climbing King Ridge Road into the hills that separate Cazadero from the coast. The camera I was using for video on this ride lasted as far as the base of King Ridge Road. All the truly great scenery came after that, but with the regular camera kaput, all I had left to capture the vistas was the camera in my cell phone. Fortunately the rest of the equipment made it over the 6,500 feet of hill climbing without any other hitches.
