Don't forget the great Red Auerbach..
"The Yankees won 25 championships. What did it take them, a hundred years? Red won nine in 10. He was the best coach in the history of professional sports. Period."
-- Bill Russell
"He's the greatest manager of men, in all walks of life."
-- John Thompson
"He had a touch with people and could get them committed to what he was doing. He made the Celtics into basketball's Cosa Nostra. We believed it was our thing."
-- Tommy Heinsohn

@mooseman1231-The Boston Garden was owned by Bill Russell. The Celtics never won the NBA championship until Auerbach was able to get Bill Russell He was the cornerstone of the Celtics' dynasty of the 1960s, an uncanny shotblocker who revolutionized NBA defensive concepts. A 5 time NBA MVP and a 12 time All-Star, Russell had 21,620 career rebounds,(22.5 per game) and led the league in rebounding four 4 times. Russ got 51 boards in one game, 49 in 2 others and a 12 seasons of 1,000 or more.

Ray Bourque last season playing for the Boston Bruins was the 1999-2000 season. The 1995 season was the Bruins last season playing at the old Boston Garden. Ray Bourque played for the Bruins in both buildings. The first Bruins game in the Fleet Center was played on October 7th 1995.

@pat442389 lol, fair enough. I do wish that Orr had been healthier and his career had been longer The Bruins could've won a lot more Cups with him around. It's a shame he had to hang up his skates so damn young.

@sean2015 neely and orr werent blessed with longevity. but they still gave 100% on & off the ice to the team and the community. for two guys not even born in this country to set up charities, go to childrens hospitals and donate their time to always help the bruins is a great thing. bourque is no better then neely or orr. but bourque himself will tell you boston is Orrs team and hes the reason theres all those old hockey rinks around the boston area and why so much NHL talent has come from here
-
@thesportsdude90 everyone know that in the 70s, it was all bout the Habs who cares about Orr when you had the greatest hockey team playing at that time. Look at the roster and youll see that now if a team would like to have the same talents on the ice they would never be able to pay.
-
@thesportsdude90 No one questions Orr's greatness as a hockey player, it's just that Ray Bourque spent so much time with the franchise and also possessed a tremendous work ethic. There's just something to be said about loyalty and longevity.
-
@sean2015 orr is the most loved bruin ever. anyone who lived in the 70s wll tell you. theres a reason he has a statue. he single handedly made boston a hockey town. he changed the game.

I love Bourque.

No.
The FleetCenter wasn't Bourque's arena. The Boston Garden was Bourque's arena.
