6V53T Detroit diesel powered '79 F250 pushin snow

Here is a short clip of my '79 F250 Ford powered by a 6V53T Detroit diesel pushing some snow. We were trying to clean up after getting approx. 12-14" of snow dumped on us!!!

The guy who owns the parking lot at the end of our alley constantly plows all his snow into the end of the alley and cblocking it, so we just push it back into his lot. It has become a little game lately, hence the comment :)

Hey, nice! Not many out there with the yarbles to go 6V53 in a pickup. Most guy go 453 I am currently engineering on a Whipple blower on the 6V53 right now. It will go back in my buddy's '86 Chev 1 ton 4X4. Its neat too - a work in progress since '92. Complete with 610 roadranger 10 spd, jakes, 4 Wheel works. Fun at tractor pulls! Noisy tho eh? I wear ear plugs and then its nice!

We use a much larger detroit, either a series 60, 12v92, or 15.5 Caterpillar

Another automatic that the 6V-53 will mate to is the Allison MT-643.

If you want an automatic get an Allison 6 speed. Double overdrive should make it more drivable. 5 and 6 are overdrive.
