bull snakes eat anything from bugs and anything they can overpower when they are newborns and juvaniles to birds rats, mice, and fish. Ive even heard of them eating bird eggs... but never rattle snakes. im not saying its not possible but the only snakes i know that eat snakes that have venom are king snakes and king cobras...

How do you know it's not a gopher snake? They are very similar.. man, you are living in a great area to study snakes!
