Bob was part of a hilarious skit from Jack's radio show where the action took place on a pirate ship and Dennis played the French villain pirate and Bob played a member of Jack's crew who uttered the line "they are revolting! they are revolting!!" to comic effect.
The running joke was a product called I-Deal Dog Food, which came up from time to time throughout the episode.

Bob Crosby was the bandleader for Jack Benny in the last few years of the latter's radio program. Happily those broadcasts can be found online. Crosby did sketches with Benny as well as singing and conducting during the program.
