  • Verhoeven's commentaries are always amazing. His commentary track for Total Recall with Schwarzenegger is really interesting and unintentionally hilarious at times.

  • @jin12345678 I don't know, even the writers friends thought ROBOCOP was fascist!

  • @FalconTB

I think its funny everyone has noted you as spam but you're the only person who actually read the fucking book.

I guess it's true that liberals only read literature that tickles their fancy.

    I'm off to read Kafka.

  • @lordblazer

You are making Heinlen roll in his grave.

  • Are american movie critics really this dumb? Or are they fascist and didn't like being ridiculed in a movie?

Really underrated and misunderstood movie. Ironically and unfortunately it's was also visionary, because the "security against terrorism" in the US is killing freedom and reinforcing fascism.

  • how did people read this as a straight-forward pro-fascist film...

  • I remember, when the film first came out, reading the Time Magazine review Verhoeven mentions at the opening of this commentary. I absolutely could not believe the reviewer was so boneheaded as to see the film as pro-fascist. You could not misread the obvious more if you tried.

  • wish there was more of this commentary online...

  • wow man you didn't have to pwn him that hard. But yea this film and the book makes fun of fascism.
