  • Its the classic example of the sell out or the real deal: the Dandy's just want to appeal to as many people as possible, people that don't have good taste, too. The BJM are not smug, and appeal to the more thoughtful type music fan that cares about integrity, and true indie rock ethos. The Dandy's SAY they are bohemian, which contradicts what bohemianism truly is: its unspoken, it has no real rules, it is an appreciation for the truly cutting edge. the Dandy's have no real vision.

  • @jbmp: you know, the BJM not delivering for their fans happened at like 2 shows back in the '90s, and that was hyped up in that stupid movie, DIG!. I saw them last summer at one ofthe finest venues on earth, The Filmore in SF, and it was the best show I've ever seen, and they played a two hour set: that s what I call my money's worth and delivering for thier fans. You know only what you saw in that stupid movie. Get informed, and don't believe everything you see. The BJM are now pros

  • @dpspac333 Yes but this not set now, it was set when the band were more dysfunctional.

  • Why don't you shoot us? lol

Whenever Dandies come on I stop paying attention :/

  • Moreover, I'd rather see half a set of the BJM than a whole show of the Dandys. I like how he says "when it's good it's fun...when it's bad it's funny." His Mohawk sure was FUNNY in that section. And his "we're the most well-adjusted band in America" statement is so lame. Their self importance is far from justified, because all they did was sell some records, their music will not stand the test of time, because they basically were contrived to fit a '90s radio format that no longer exists.

    Good

  • @dpspac333 -- weeell, I saw them in the mid-2000s in LA, and you-know-who melted down right on cue ... El Rey, everyone was having a great time, and then BOOM!

  • @dpspac333 At least the Dandy Warhols can play an entire fucking show without having a temper tantrum. Real musicians at least deliver for their fans.

  • @Aintnobodysbuisness Joel and Jeff Davies are an exception. Also, after watching this many times, I've come to the conclusion that this movie was biased to The Dandies.

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green agreed about Hollywood and Anton, but I think Joel Gion looks like a nice funny guy.

  • @dpspac333 Anton is pretty smug, dude. He's a fuckin' hipster. I really like BJM, but the members are a bunch of fuckin' smug assholes.

  • @chyo1 Strung out in heaven has a psychedelic vibe to it as well, but not as much as some of their other material, very catchy songs. Bringing It All Back Home – Again is a more polished version of Take it from the man, so that sounds a little like that album. They are pretty successful these days as well, Anton has his own record company, they've done tours both in the US and world wide, released an album last year as well.
