Columbia Business School professors and MBA students are increasingly interested in exploring social enterprise organizations in India. A number of economic, social and environmental factors have contributed to India's high concentration of innovative social ventures -- both for-profit and nonprofit -- in fields including microfinance, cell phone applications for the base of the pyramid and rural development organizations.
It was definitely an excellent avenue for you to explore areas in India where you could apply what was learnt in the class and provide solutions to the areas that you have explored. Please can you quantitatively explain the transformation that you brought about in these areas? I strongly believe that a true business leader is one who will determine effective solutions, ensure the implementation of those solutions and also suggest ways of sustaining them.
