If you were really an "expertsurvival" you would know that vitamin C combusts at boiling temperatures. So all you're really drinking is water flavored with pine and the minor toxins it contains.

If ya boil the needles I've heard it destroys the vitamin C, I guess you're sposed to crush the needles somewhat and then steep them in very warm water to release vitamin C and using the new growth at the ends of small branches eliminates most of the pine oils which are not good for you if you want to drink this daily..... : )
