Nick Skelton (GBR) & J-Nick (ISH) win 1987 Hickstead Derby with a clear round
J-Nick was by Wily Trout (Thoroughbred) that stood with Maurice Phelan, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. Wily Trout also sired Britains highest ever placed Dressage horse at the Olympics also name "Wily Trout" a full thoroughbred ridden by Christoper Bartle (GBR) to place 6th at L.A. Olympics 1984.
Maurice Phelan also stood the great Nordlys who sired the only Irish bred to win an Olympic Gold in Show Jumping a dabble grey gelding called "Ambassador" ridden by the late great Graziano Mancinelli (ITA) (they also helped Italy win Olympic Team Bronze at Munich 1972) - Nordlys is Cruising's Dam sire.
