  • Am very intrigued with this theatre in a box for Wurlitzer - It is incredibly authentic but just NOT available here in Canada - in fact Yamaha (and Roland) has totally failed to make such 3rd party theatre organ music samples available! They were available 15 yrs ago on the Yamaha Electone series on 3.5 diskettes - then totally disappeared! Very frustrating -

    Bob T Vancouver Canada!

  • In a box is right. The poo' wittle coworful tabs got put in a box too. You cwazy ewectwonical wabbits. You couldn't stop at twanzistels you had to go and make the first traveling theater organ player with his own...woady.

  • I saw Tony in concert in May or June this year he played an medley using Fantom XR with theatre organ samples it was time I had one live before.

    Ben

  • Very, very enjoyable, and inspirational as well.

    Terrific

  • I am not sure if jazzboy is the person playing this or not, might be Tony Staces screen name. After the message that James Kinmond has recieved (a regular at my organ concerts) I am of the opinion the Jazzboy is a foul mouthed ignoramous, who is totally adverse to any comments, thus there is no point in anyone posting such after this. As it goes Jazzboy, Reg Dixon has far from made the theatre organ kitsch as you put it. He has inspired many organists, me included to keep up the good work.

  • Opinions are like arseholes everyone has one

  • Jazzboyfin. How dare you!!!!! And such language in your comments re Reg Dixon. If it was not for the Like of Reg then the theatre organ would have vanished into obscurity. The Blackpool sound is known the WORLD over and is the sound that attracts many to the theatre organ. Your comments are clearly bourne out of ignorance and have no merit!

  • The registration at 2.34 is (I think) 16 and 2 tibias with a tierce coupler the the quint coupler added later. Nice performance. Mind you, if you must play the Ol Piannnna Rag, you could put your back into it a bit more.

  • yeah. what YOU would call good arrangments. i have listened to simon gledhill and it's not really my cup of tea. American style in my opinion should stay in America. But thats just my view. It doesnt mean its right.

  • How can you hate the Blackpool sound. It's magical. At the end of the day, it's justthe dixon technique of playing but some American Organists like Jelani are also very good. You tend to play the theatre organ to what ever style suits the organist. ie- i love playing in that typical style by reg. It's just what you feel happy with.
