  • I've no idea really to be honest! Some of it I started ages ago, some parts were cannibalised from other circuitry. Time was a much more important factor than cost!

  • This sounds amazing. Please inform on the pcb's under the proverbial hood. What's going on here? This is an outstanding patch. VC divider? Sequencer? Combo?

  • Thanks Top row (L-R): VCO's 1-5 VC ADSR Bottom row (L-R): Preamp/Ring mod/LFO VCLFO x 2 Low pass filter with EG Dual EG 6 channel mixer and final VCA
  • damn!

this is great!love the way it generate sound...can you tell me if this is a kit(which one, where have you buy it???) or if you have projected it?

    thanks a lot and congratulation...

    that's weird!!!amazing...

    cheers-

  • I bought some of the circuit boards as kits, and some I developed from existing designs but modified them accordingly. The VCO's are mostly EFM, with one Oakley VCO. Other bits include Music from Outer Space designs, etc.

  • Thanks! Top row left to right is VCO's 1-5 and a VC ADSR envelope generator. Bottom row left to right is:

    Preamp/Ring mod/LFO

    VCLFO x 2

    Low pass filter with EG

    Dual EG

    6 channel mixer

    and final VCA

  • Sounds like my printer

  • R2D2's mating call!

  • Great sci-fi monster! lol

  • Oh yes.

  • I'd love to build something like this, but I am poor & I am just starting to learn about electronics!

  • You absolutely rule.. the background repeatitive sound is like the breath of a sleeping monster, and the other (two) random sounds are like the countdown to his awakening.... aaaaargh

  • lol its very random sounds

  • @chrisbern75 What exactly is a normal sound? 40 years ago they thought distortaed guitars were just unplayable noise. To a synthesist, there either is no such thing as a normal sound, or they are all "normal" because they are CREATED. As far as synths go, the sounds here are pretty much in line with what you would find in other similar synths. Perhaps you could try broadening your musical horizons a bit?

  • mind if I ask what it cost you to put this thing together?
