The USA is in financial & ethical chaos,
I’ve traced the root of our problem to Lincoln,
He’s the first to savage our constitution, destroyed
states rights, created an illegal war costing
625,000 lives, burnt our own cities to the ground
causing regional hatreds that continue to this day,
He created the BEAST that’s become our Federal Government,
I agree, Holzer knows more about Lincoln than I ever will,
but half truths and sugar coating of history is deceitful

If there is any true authority on Lincoln History. Its Harold Holzer. This guy knows more about Lincoln than anyone and this toast is a wonderful tribute to President Lincoln. I agree that the president may not have been perfect. But if there is a model for a great leader, it is Lincoln.

Just another sloppy Lincoln tribute,
why not include his (Lincolns) actions to arrest the Supreme Court Chief Justice, or opposition newspapers owners and common citizens that opposed his actions,
I recommend the book The Real Lincoln for the real story about this celebrated corporate lawyer
