Tian Shan Mountain Adventure

The Tian Shen Mountain Adventure begins in Almaty, considered the commercial and cultural heart of Kazakhstan. With broad tree-lined avenues, excellent museums, bustling markets and Central Asia's best selection of restaurants, its a time to soak up the culture before the action begins.

Arriving into Almaty the previous weekend, guests will get a chance to acclimatise themselves within the city's historic beauty. Our trip leaves Almaty on a trek over the Alatoo Mountain Range that borders Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan - a unique and remarkable way to reach Kyrgyzstan. We will arrange for border officials to meet us en route and as we head over the mountains, Kyrgyzstan will greet us with spectacular scenery as we look down on the beautiful Lake Issyk Kol in the distance.

Our focus then shifts from boots to saddles as we enjoy a multi-day horse trek through high passes in the Celestial mountains. Horse riding is a perfect way to enjoy them. After some time with an eagle hunter and his family, we switch to mountain bikes, camping along our route by the stunning Lake Song Kul, before heading back northwards towards Bishkek

The trip finishes with a thrilling white water rafting session on the Chuey River, before arriving in Kyrgyzstan's cosmopolitan capital city, Bishkek, where we'll have a chance to reminisce about the fantastic things we have seen and done, over a beer and a group meal.
