JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)... Sophomore forward JULIA CASERES (Union, NJ/Union), freshman forward ASHLEY CUNHA (Edison, NJ/Edison) and freshman defender CHELSEA SPETHMANN (Wood-Ridge, NJ/Wood-Ridge—Hasbrouck Heights) all scored twice and sophomore midfielder KATLIN VARGO (Edison, NJ/Union Catholic) contributed three assists as New Jersey City University tied the single-season school record for victories, hammering the City College of New York, 10-1, in a non-conference womens soccer game on Sunday at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.

With the win, NJCU improves to 9-6 overall and 5-1 at home this season. The nine wins tie the 1994 and 2008 clubs for the most in one year in the 17-year history of the program. CCNY drops to 2-7-1. NJCU leads the all-time series, 10-1, with an 80-8 goals differential. NJCU outshot the Beavers, 38-7 and had a 13-1 edge in corner kicks. It was NJCUs second win over CCNY this year; the Knights won 9-1 on September 8.
