the voice of alvin in the movie is JUSTIN LONG. the voice of theodore is JESSE MCCARTNEY. the voice of simon is Matthew Gray Gubler.

just to clear this all up because everyone always says different stuff. this is who really plays the voices! i am not sure who the singers are. i believe that they have different ppl that sing the voices.

In the audio sense, speed is directly proportional to pitch. As you speed up an audio file, the waveform will have a higher frequency and will then, in turn, be higher in pitch. So, yes they speed it up, but its not the speed, its the pitch that makes it a chipmunk.

Well when the people originally sing this song they have to sing it extremely slow so when they make their voices higher it won't come out fast
