i don't agree with you about taxes. during the 30s depression, roosevelt hiked taxes on the rich to 90% or more and used the money to set up social security and unemployment insurance. he also set up a federal jobs program which employed 12 million people. all this during a depression which was worse than this one, so far at least. see richard wolff 'capitalism hits the fan' vid (the 1hr 45m one is the best).

If those in DC made the way easy for US jobs to go overseas then this increased the amount of people dependent on a gov. handout (paid for votes) .It seems like the easier it is to receive money from the gov. the less they care about what this Republic is built upon...

This is the perfects storm. The economy is in the toilet and taking more federal dollars out of circulation will further deepen the recession (depression). Continuing to spend however will deepen our national debt. There is no solution. Even an ignoramus can see that. People you better prepare or you are negligent to yourself and your family.

Demcad! Amen brother!!! You are so good at educating people on the economy. I hope more people will watch your videos and even pass them on to others.

Capitalism is failing but nobody wants to admit it and look for a new way of living. This is the problem.

@astrialkil 2 20 hr jobs is less efficient then one 40 hr job....and they frequently conflict with each other.

@astrialkil Then get two jobs, or use the time to fix up house.

@UNTC321 20 hr work week hurts us by limiting our ability to work.
Have you checked out the theories and objectives of a resource-based economy, where move beyond a monetary system. You are so correct about the contradictions of a monetary system where you can’t simply tax the problem and hope that things will get better.

FACT: Right now 50% of Americans who are lucky enough to have a job, earn less than $500/wk.
Virtually all of the jobs being "created" pay less than $500/wk and most pay $7-$10/hr.
