Get a life dude. Just because you're in medicine doesn't mean you have to be a dick. Maybe you're just naturally that way? Seems like it. This is actually a great way to gain attention to something. But it just simply seems to be something they are doing to practice their improv (which is phenomenal I must say) and to provide entertainment for the people in the station and draw their attention away from those worldly problems that you've mentioned.
