Footage from Sunday's Boscobel Battle. This was a very moving battle, one which then led into the final surrender at Appomattox Court house. In my raw footage of the battle you can actually hear the narrators voice cracking as the Confederate Army surrenders. I want to extend a thanks to all my fellow reenactors who did a wonderful job with this. I didn't have to edit out anyone getting back up after being shot, nor did I hear any modern day things being shouted.

  • I was in it, but it's hard to see. I'm by the flag and take a hit at the same time someone next to me does and they kind of block me out. If you can see it I'm wearing really dark kersey brown pants and simply crumble from a gunshot as if my feet suddenly disappear.

  • Hey, post up more of the ending if you could. I was wounded at 4:36 and later was told to do walking/shootin wounded, and I would like to see how I did. This is Korey by the way. Greenbush was fun, me and bob had a nice hit together there.

  • I will try to post more of this battle in the future. I have so much footage from events that it might take me a while. I want to do a video of all the events we did, and make it interesting, though I might have to put that on our webpage just because of the size.

  • This looked incredible. My hat goes off to all the other reenactors. I am a Cornfed Comrade and was with the Colors with the rest of the Cornfeds.

I feel at 1:50 on the right side of the color bearer. Mark Hiedalbal did a fantastic job as Confederate CO. I wish we had more Late War and Early War events like this. On Saturday, I was the wounded Confederate who picked the colors, and I was the last in the Color Guard. What a experiance. I am usually Union to the core, this was a experiance!

  • It was fun doing an early war / late war and I was really happy at how somber the surrender was. Mark Hiedalbal does a nice job. I like his first person approach and look forward to being under his command again (I think I can speak for all of The Orphan Boys when I say this).

Will we be seeing you at Galesburg? I know some of the Cornfeds will be blue for this one, so maybe we will only see you in our rifle sights :-)

  • i am going to be a reenactor soon this is a great video. where you in it?

  • @starry77 foggy dew

  • Last place I would be is trying to duke it out with the federals in a half circle. One well placed shot of double canister would end that pretty quick.

  • What is the music? It fits perfectly. Thanks for posting this. Great video.

  • The most authentic video today of confederates in the field at a reenactment. I had the pleasure of being on battalion staff watching this all unfold.... soon after this i broke down into tears.... watching us surrenderwas aweful.. We were asked to break and walk away and i found the shoulder of a federal soldier to cry on..... Best event of 2009

  • yeah sounds like a project. good luck!
