"I Belong to You" is the third single by American rock musician Lenny Kravitz from his 1998 album 5. It was released on September 22, 1998 by Virgin Records America. The song featured a soft-rock and reggae inspired sound.

The music video, directed by Mark Seliger and Fred Woodward, was shot in February 1998, in Bahamas, where his mother, Roxie Roker was from. It visually expanded the reggae influence of the song. Kravitz was shot singing and slightly dancing among the people, also walking and biking along the streets. Another remarkable scene from the video is the one when Kravitz is singing sunk up to his hips in the water. It should be also noticed that Kravitz does not have his dreadlocks anymore since this video.

  • Wonderful memories of love ....

  • Great question! If I were to analyze the creative nature of this video it may seem both or, it could be a journey visually designed by the videographers, interconnecting Lenny Kravitz's playful nature with a sometimes serious truth about the sandles of a historical and evolving culture.--Madeline Gouin

  • I absolutely love this song, and well, yeah, I love culture, but I don't quite understand-is this song about loving another person or the culture itself??

  • The videographer and content designer (both of which are artists), truly, have a vision in mind with the creation of this video! The mark of creative intelligence reflects the culture of the people filmed; from the clothing to the strategic settings, I can hear the heartbeat of a message. There is an exceptional connection between earth and the artist's heart, using money as the vessel to display authenticity in humanity's simple and hopeful nature of being! -- (c) 2010 M. Gouin
