Sen. Isakson explains the importance of fixing the housing market in order to stimulate the economy through his "Fix Housing First" proposal. He argues that we have an existing roadmap for solving this problem due to a similar situation in the 1970s. He was a Realtor at that time and a federal housing tax credit restored the housing market during an economic recession. Therefore, Senator Isakson proposes a $15,000 tax credit to give consumers an incentive for purchasing a home. February 4, 2009.
