Minelab Sovereigns work well in saltwater and on wet salt sand----the MINELAB Explorers work well also-----BUT this VAQUERO doesn't do so well does it?

How does the 10X12 DD compare with the stock 8X9?

Yes the minelabs work better in the salt, the vaquero is just like any other single frequency at the ocean, you have to turn the sensitivity down alot and try to ground balance the best you can. However I was still able to find stuff with it in the salty sand.

It wasn't that good but I'm sure a Vaquero would stomp a pulse around a cellar hole :)

In saltwater beach it seemed to run smoother then the stock coil and covers more ground of course. However I really could not tell which one is deeper on a coins, the stock coil is a deep coil on coins. I have found coins at around 10" with the stock coil, I have not used the 10x12 enough to find any old coins that deep. But if I went over a coin that was 10" deep I'm sure the bigger coil would of found it.
