  • This is a brilliant video.I play semi professional rugby and some physios we have doing strapping in certain games are a disaster and literally haven't a clue how to strap a shoulder. There should be more of these kind of videos on youtube.

  • @wigsa Cheers mate, get them to watch this method, we have been using many different techniques over the years and have found this way to be way more effective than any other. I've worked with england and south africa national teams as well as the reds in queensland, they all switched to this way after trialing it

  • how can you tape it across the front of the chest if it is on a woman?

  • @0rngeJuice, yeah you can, but you have to do it a bit differently, with the anchors, you need to go either side of the breast, and just onto the top of the breast as well, and when you overwrap it, you need to go around a bit higher on the chest, it is not as comfortable or effective, but we have never had any player re-injured while taped, and the girls were very happy with how secure it felt, but you do have to get a bit personal while taping.

  • awesome video there budd really helpfull gotta put it to the test on my next game thought i was gonna have to stop playing, what sizes and make up is the tape you use please?

  • @Tpatriot7 Hey mate, the brown tape is a 1 1/2" rigid premium sports tape. the over wrap is a elastic adhesive bandage(3").

  • Hey i play union in ireland im only 15 and ive already had 2 dislocations i was just wondering how long do you think is an appropiate time to return if is used this tapong method just to finish the season? Thanks.

  • I tore my labrum and had surgery but it was a partial tear again and is shifted forward.

  • @rugbynut65 cheers for the advice, i played a few games with it strapped and it felt ok actually. ironically i dislocated my other shoulder so i guess its something inherent in my shoulders. i've had the original labral tear repaired surgically 2 weeks ago, it was torn from the 2 o'clock to 6 position, i had some sinovitis in the capsule. the glenoid neck was also rasped as it had been squared off a bit from the dislocations. i had 3 anchors put in to reattach my labrum, no signs of SLAP tears

  • @ystuk , I can't gaurentee anything mate, but we did have a player with a torn labrum that played out the season with this taping method, and he was a front rower, he had no problem tackling or scrummaging, he just wanted to get through the year before the re-con post season.
