Roby was a true christian of conflict and character. His honesty was disarming. His music came from a dark place that had seen a great light. A true troubador. This interview tells who he is. Thank you, Lord, for sending us Roby. Such honesty in such a time of misrepresentation is a drink of pure water. I miss him.
I was in High school when I first heard Roby. This music kept my girlfriend and I from fornicating because we loved his music so much. We would listen to "Closer to you" over and over, until we fell asleep. Thank God for Roby. Can"t wait to see him in heaven!!!
@Fretkillr I was fortunate to hear him perform in New York City's Hunter College along with Pastor Raul Ries, back in the 80's . Youre so right about him not getting the exposure. He should have been MEGA, but then again Roby was singing for and to GOD and that's how it's supposed to be. What a Psalmist. and Musical inspiration.
A good singer and guitarist who I've never heard of. He's Christian music artist who didn't get exposure in the New York market. He's playing a Martin D-35 going through a Roland Chorus and he sounds like a clone of Kenny Loggins. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for this posting of his 80's music. I have 2 of his 1980's albums, which is when I fell in love with his style. He will be missed! and such love for the Lord!

Awesome singer/songwriter, very similar to Bill Champlin. Great vintage document, many thanks for sharing.
