In this video, you see the NF demonstrating in London because of the IRA attacks that happened in 1988:
-three off-duty British servicemen were killed in Holland in May
-in June five British soldiers were killed in Lisburn
- a British army soldier was killed by IRA terrorists in Inglis Barracks, London on 1st August
- six British soldiers were killed in Belfast by an IRA bomb in Belfast, 20th August
Martin Wingfield speaks about the disgusting nature of the IRA attacks on Britain and that an NF (or now BNP) government would declare war on these butchering scum.
Even Colonel Gadafi supported the IRA which is why Griffin travelled over to negotiate with him to stop supporting the IRA and for money as well.
This was the NF in the later 80s very small with only a few hundred members and its votes decreased a lot in the by-elections and the General Election 1983. The NF came to a collapse after 1979 where over 300 candidates lost all their deposits because Margaret Thatcher's anti-immigration rhetoric which turned NF supporters back to the "Conservatives". Only now it came to the point that the "Conservatives" did everything that the NF were against- privatisation of the public sector and global free-trade. The NF wanted to control the banking system, keep the public sector nationalised and place a tarriff system to protect British jobs and workers. The NF even supported the Miners' strike in 1984 although they could not take part because of Arthur Scargill and his Marxist cronies.
When the NF came to a downfall in 1979, John Tyndall and Richard Edmonds left and formed the NNF (New National Front) which changed its name in 1982 to the BNP (British National Party), Andrew Fountaine left to form the Constitutional Movement which only lasted for a while in the early 80s and the NF was under the leadership of Andrew Brons (now BNP MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber) from 1980 to 1985. Both the BNP, the NF and the Constitutional Movement (named Nationalist Party) contested over 50 candidates in the 1983 General Election except the Constitutional Movement which stood only 5 but failed to save any deposits, this started to prove difficult for the two parties due to financial backing and loss of members.
The NF gained 27,065 votes beating the BNP which gained 14,621 votes and the Constitutional Movement, that collapsed after the Southgate by-election, with only 630 having stood only 5 PPCs.
As it got to 1985, the percentage threshold decreased from 12.5% to 5% to win the deposit and as increased the deposit from £185 to £500.
In 1985, Andrew Brons left the NF and carried on with his college lecturing in Government and Politics at Harrowgate college whereas the NF was facing difficulties. The NF split into two groups: the Flag Group which is the on-going NF and the Official National Front (which renamed itself the International Third Position)- the former was run by Martin Wingfield and Ian Anderson whereas the latter was run by Nick Griffin, Derek Holland and Patrick Harrington. The latter failed a lot going absolutely nowhere whereas the former The Flag carried on with most of its members and did not want to liase itself with the BNP because Wingfield found Tyndall "National Socialistic". The ITP declined badly, Patrick Harrington was philo-Semitic and formed the Third Way http://www.thirdway.eu/ (or National Liberal Party http://www.nationalliberal.org/).
This article talks about the problems with the NF crisis in the 1980s though it is very critical about Nick Griffin
http://www.spearhead.com/0310-jt1.html
Derek Holland lived in his own loony world and Nick Griffin was out of politics until 1995 when he joined the BNP and became its chairman in1999 and was elected MEP for the North West region in the 2009 European elections. Griffin changed the BNP's repatriation policy from compulsory to voluntary, he excluded skinhead yobs and extremists and focused more on mass immigration.
The NF was under Wingfield's leadership until late 1989 where it was handed over to Anderson who led it until 1994 to form the NatDems.
More info on Anderson here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64UbHDx1VSo
The NF was the first British Nationalist party to take part in the European elections 1989 and 1994 where it was first past the vote but no deposits were saved. The NF has done badly ever since 1979 and it still is. It needs its drums in its marches and it needs to stop posing as skineheads with heavy jackets and start wearing blazers.

I think that they have achieved much and they have smattered all the Marxist parties in every constituency, so I have no idea where you got that from. Plus why not say the same about the Conservatives gaining seats and winning constituencies? The BNP did not manipulate anything, it is a political party that has a policy on everything. Better than Labour.
Whatever AryanArmy88 says, those are his own opinions

They've not perticularly achieved much they've been voted into the EUP because of an extremly poor turn out and the collapse of labour has left voters in a state of despair at most partys, and much like the NF infact the BNP jumped on this and manipulated it for their own means.
And i think the comment from
'Aryan Army88'
bellow basicly sums up the NF and the BNP leaders.

Exactly because the people who were originally in the NF like Nick Griffin, Martin Wingfield, Simon Darby (although he was actually in the National Democrats between 1995-1998), Andrew Brons, John Bean, Eddy Butler, Mark Collett etc are all making the party achieve somewhere whereas the NF is nowhere today because it is nothing but a ship without a compass.
BNP= 3 county councillors and over 100 parish and district councillors, 1 GLA member and 2 MEPs
NF= Nothing!
