It's fine with your opinion that you prefer sam but i prefer Lea, she's not only an amazing singer, she's also a fantastic actress as well, her Eponine is much closer to the book

not that I dislike Lea as Eponine I just find Sam drew me into the character more just because i feel she had more emotion. Don't get me wrong Lea is amazing and when she played Fantine it just had that feeling of holy crap this is the most emotional thing ever.
