No tutorial, sorry ! But i can say that i used after effects (years ago now ...) and AE new versions are prone to help making this less painstacking (rotobrush, motion tracking, shapes and masks ...). Everything at that time was made copying and pasting points (making paths for each frame : 25i/s) hand created with Pen Tool around characters. It is also possible now to export/import frames between photoshop ans AE. Bon courage !
