Finally, an absolutely awesome review of the "original" The Thing! I think it was so far ahead of its time, especially with such subtle things like the overlapping dialogue between the characters. And it just had that creepy feel of keeping you on edge of your seat, because no one knew where this blood thirsty alien was lurking. And definately seems to have ifluenced many movies thereafter. Heck even John Carpenter had it playing on the kids TV in his 1978 hit Halloween! ~Peace and God Bless~.

And John Carpenter is a fan of this movie and his remake was a nice homage to this movie and more faithful to the original novella
