In the end the two had to fuse together and become one being...to overcome...thier obstacle...one which was to big for one person....two different walks of life....that desired the same final outcome...a world which wasn't repressed....one were you could follow your fists...

They weren't blood brothers...nor were they even remote relatives..however..they were spiritual brothers..for what they both valued to protect was the same....they desired to change the world...with their fists...

but as it would seem the other fellow didn't have circumcision of the heart...and the avatar had that...the avatar was fighting the right fight..just needed more power..and knowledge..and the other fellow had it....

It would seem that other fellow was destined to train the avatar to restore order to the world....two people...sorta like two witnesses....what if the purpose of one is to teach the other....to grow....

Sometimes you may have been on the wrong path your whole life..then through mal events learn the ultimate truth....amazing..the part when the air bender and fire bender....were using thier ego's manifested as dragons....very strong..
