May 31, 2009 concerned motorist telling me that the buckskin mare was on three legs hobbling around so I run outside and here comes Pearl on three legs. I stall her cold hose her leg and call the vet freaking out cause I was sure she sliced that tendon since she has a pretty good gash there. 2 hours later the vet shows up and in that 2 hours I am calling every other horse person I know trying to see if someone could make it before the vet did to calm me down. Hubby isn't a horse person but he was trying his best to tell me it was alright. I prepared myself for the worst possible putting Pearl to sleep. Finally the vet comes and looks at her feels around and says everything is intact and she will be fine. He also said with the way I made it sound he brought euthanasia. I just sighed a HUGE sigh of relief that my baby would be okay and gave Pearl a huge hug. So no work for a month which is okay as long as Pearl is okay. Bute, penicillin, hydro therapy, and lots of rest and of course my spoiling and treats. My poor baby is still on 3 legs but is trying to put weight on the hurt one. Thank you everyone that came out to check on Pearl and those who called.....
