Religion is The Great Hijacker Part 5 Confession

Before you look at this one, you really should consider viewing the first 4 parts of this series.

I want to debunk religion of its supposed right to own the whole process of a person feeling guilt, confessing and then feeling better afterwards. Confession is not the property of religion. It is yours and mine. They just want you to believe that they have a special role to play so that they can keep their jobs in the confessional!

The latter petition states that "Britain is largely now a secular nation, and honouring Muhammad in this way would be inappropriate and offensive to a vast majority of the population. The undersigned all feel there are many more British people deserving of a national holiday, such as Darwin, Newton, Churchill - all of whom would be more appropriate for a day to honour them."

This is turning out to be an absolutely excellent series. Victimlesscriminal has a way of echoing what I have thought about for so long and have never been able to fully formulate. This series - 'religion is the great hijacker' is outstanding and should be made into a DVD set.

500 years from now, if we survive the threat of nuclear weapons in the hands of religiously/ideologically motivated people, the human race will look back on these days as the dying days of humanity's childhood. One day the entire human race will have outgrown the infantile need for a God, and when that day comes, oh brother, there'll be dancing in the streets for sure! Hallelujah!

Or the fundies will have blown us all to kingdom come. For no other reason than their own vanity.

LOVED IT!!

Ironically, Jesus Christ, himself, taught that we're not to go to priests for "absolution". He taught that we're supposed to go to God in prayer, in private, confess our "sins", leave them there &, I'm guessing, not do it again.

Also, notice that the only actions that JC descibed as sins were those which were taken by one person to purposely hurt another, period.

It'll be nice when so-called "Christians" actually do as JC taught...
