  • I agree with this review, when I got this game I was expecting to get THE actual experience of being a pokemon but I was wrong. The plot seems no different from the first game, the characters don't have any creative names or personallities I could relate to,and the gameplay is ridiculously plain and frustrating!!! It would've been better if Intelligent Systems had developed it because that company did such a great job with the paper mario games.( no offense to the people who like it )

  • I disagree, I mean I love paper Mario, but this is a mystery dungeon game, not a regular TBRPG. Suggesting Intelligent Systems would make this game better is just plain stupid, the only do TBRPGs.

  • Come on this is not a relly good review it gets a 1/5 Its better then what he said he need to shut his mouth he probaly hates pokemon.

  • It's your opinion, thanks for the input.

  • not bad though i dont have a DS

  • I didn't do this review,IGN did.

  • I personally thought the Music and Storyline was a great feature of the game, yet I agree on the gameplay part.

  • @mastersword1000 ... It's not like we have a gigantic 1920x1080 HDTV to work with. The Nintendo DS is a portable handheld, and there are also button shortcuts for attacking (L+A) and even item throwing. Compared to Blue Rescue Team, the touchscreen controls are vastly improved. While certainly not a complete replacement, it is there if you get tired of having sore thumbs.

Don't do a review if you don't even know half of the material you're reviewing.

  • @mastersword1000 ...a slightly different experience? There aren't going to be any walk-throughs for this game, IGN. I would think that Chunsoft intended to have the player adapt to a dungeon's setting rather then knowing every single Pokemon, and what the moves, level, and type are. It's not going to be a walk in the park; you have to be prepared for anything the dungeon has to throw at you. Think of it as a challenge.

    5. The menus are clunky? What did you expect from a DS game? (cont)

  • 1. Pokemon is plural. There is no "pokemons."

    2. IGN obviously picked a guy that has no idea what the fuck he's talking about, as he refers to them as "plant" and "bird" "pokemons".

    3. Not every Pokemon game is aimed at children. Does IGN honestly think a 7 year old will read all of that text? No. Will a gamer aged 13-17 read it? Yes. You don't have to be a child to enjoy the mystery dungeon series.

    4. The dungeon layout may be a good argument, but wouldn't you rather have a slightly (cont)

  • Obviously not a pokemon fan. There is no such thing as a 'bird' Pokemon. Or Plant Pokemon.

And the word Pokemon is the same word plural. You don't say "Pokemons" You say Pokemon.

Oh, and why dosen't IGN Get a good reviever?

  • The storyline of PMD Red and Blue were better : /

  • With crap like this, it's not surprising that the Japanese are losing there foothold in the video game industry.

  • is this different then the norml pokemon games like ruby and sapphire, platinum?

  • dude, the storys on both the games are MUCH better than the normal pokemon games. I give both the games 5/5

  • Wow. This is why I never depend on iGN. This game kicked ass.

  • Really? I beat this game, and you say its for the younger audience, you kidding? I found the story beautifully made, and made me cry, heck I'm 14 and I still love it, in terms of difficulty, the first few dungeons are easy, but as the game progress it actually becomes a challenge, and I enjoy that. honestly, I'd give this a 8/10. you also get some charecter development, I wont spoil it, but its pretty cool.
