  • Hi Jared I really dig your videos. I think I can trust your opinions on this. I am looking agt tis lens. Never seen one in real life so to speak, but doing online research. I am not into alal this analysing BS, but I 'ain't got a lot of money if you dig. Mid you I CAN pay for this lens if it is up to what i want. I am wondering if you are still just as happy as you were three months ago with the lens. I've been reading kenrockwell and he likes it too. What doyou reckon? Love your style too man

  • @writerman242 First dont read ken rockwell lol second I love this lens, when you buy pro gear its most likely going to work so no need to over think anything time and time again which so many people do.

  • I have read somewhere that the new 70-200vrII is shorter than 200mm (when zoomed to 200) only when focusing close. When focusing at distance the vrII lens shows a 200mm field of view. Maybe you could give this a try and let us all know if this is fact of fiction?

  • @witherm01 I did a test with both lenses and yes it comes up slightly shorter but it's a ton sharper edge to edge with no vinetting so i prefer that. It's really no big deal and many people have blown it put of proportion.

  • Thank You as I agree if the lens does a excellent image just go out and shoot the pictures. I am picking up this lens in a few weeks as just sold some of my older lens and was looking for a good lens to use with my new D700 and I just want the best picture if it's not quite 200mm then take one step forward as yes I seen the video's where people will nit-pick the product to death

  • @mannequindisplay exactly, and after having the lens for a long time now just shoot!!!

  • @emotionalpunk101390 70-200mm is beast i use it at co-op everyday, fucking awesome lens, great for weddings. (works good on the 5D i use at work) so i think it will work great with your D7000.

  • Hey Jaredpolin, can this work great on my d7000, if, what is the pros and cons?

  • i have the 105mm and was thinging about buying the tc20 2x converter to make it around the 200mm or will it just be worth buying the 70-200mm?

  • Jared, good reviewws man, kewp it up.... this video helped in deciding, and i finally got the 70-200 VR 2!! fantastic lens ...heavy, but amazing quality indeed. BTW, i have compared the reach on 200mm, between 18-200 ( at 200) and 70-200 VR2... what i noticed is that the 18-200 VR, actually has less reach than the 200mm on the 70-200... what does this mean ? does the 18-200 really get to 200mm ? does any lens get to 200mm :)?

  • isnt it shorter only at the closest focusis distance of 1.5 meters? due to the nature of the IF giving it a field of view similar to tht of a 60-135? but how is it at infinity? im considering buying this lens for my dx body. any tips

  • I think this is the first time you didn't open the video with ––

"Jared Polin!! FRO. KNOWS. PHOTO!! dot com!"

  • Actually, I'm curious about its breathing, which can be a problem for use with video doing rack focusing. So any insight you can give me on its breathing would be appreciated? Thanks!

  • Side comment here Jared, but nice headphones! I hope you are amping them right. If you are ever in the market for new headphones and like the Senn sound signature, give the HD650s a try. I have them and they are easily my favorite headphones in my cache.

Audiophilia and photography...I chose some expensive hobbies, lol.

  • Nice review Jared.

  • Thanks Jared I will be going for it for sure now. Yes Rockwell goes on abit too much for my taste about how sharpness is not a funciton of the quality of a ens (hello??) THEN says always buy lenses made by your camera maker and how THIS lens IS supersharp. I think I will gladly take your advice Thank you for such a fast response. I enjoy your style and the quality of your ideas & reviews By the way I dug your thinktank retrospective 30 review Tossing up betweent he 20 or 30 Thanks again!
