  • Glen actually very rarely uses General's pencil (and if he does, it would be the softest not HB). He mainly demonstrates with Wolff's 4 and 6B pencils.

  • Glen uses a General's Charcoal Pencil - 2B (Medium). He also uses SMOOTH Newsprint, which helps the charcoal flow smoothly onto the paper. Most newprints pads are Rough texture and the uneven surface creates an uneven, spotty effect.

  • Are you using a charcoal pencil that's cut off at the end? If so, what brand? I'm using general's charcoal and its a bit rough, so why does yours apply so smoothly? Also, fantastic classes! Hope I can sign up!
