I think it was out of the water for more than a few seconds. Why not just look at it in the bucket?

I've caught wild pleco's before also. not sure why everyone is down rating this video they can live out of water for a while esp if you keep their gills wet.

You can keep a pleco out of the water for like 5-10mins............thats what the professionals at the pet store told me....but i dont wanna try it haha

Hermano: el pez jamás dejó de respirar, sus branquias estuvieron húmedas todo el tiempo, no quise dañar al pez, los respeto mucho. He hallado muchas prácticamente sepultadas en barro y las he trasportado en balde, con poca o casi nada de agua y han sobrevivido. Aparte fué solo esos pocos segundos y listo, con fines educativos, no de someter al pez... Aparte son capaces de intercambiar gases tragando literalmente bocanadas de aire (a través del intestino irrigado)

Son peces bastante comunes en el río Paraná, suelo pescarlos con red, de tamaños que no pasan los 3 cm, luego los libero en una pileta con la vegetacion adecuada y crecen mucho en poco tiempo...

Yes, of course, I know that, but I just want to show this fish out of the water for a wilhe.
Some years ago I found a little pool with a lot of dead fish, because there are no water for they, they only linving fishes were a Plecostomus! I cacht everyone and put into other big pool near this one...(pardon for my bad english)
