David Attenborough presents the amazing lyre bird, which mimics the calls of other birds - and chainsaws and camera shutters - in this video clip from The Life of Birds. This clever creature is one of the most impressive and funny in nature, with unbelievable sounds to match the beautiful pictures.

  • I used to be an avid bird watcher..... but then I took a sparrow to the knee.

Nice try, moron. Attenborough is agnostic and was married for 49 years before his wife passed away. Both his son and daughter have respected careers in education. You, on the other hand, spread lies and vitriol. It speaks for itself.

  • R2D2 bird

  • @NoiseBoomer Good for you

  • Is this a piss take, if so, you fooled me

  • WOW, this is what this creature does to mate, now that is highly impressive. The funny part is, all those douchebags who put in hair gel, pop their collars, spray on too much cologne and go to the clubs have been completely shown up by these birds

  • i honestly don't know how anyone could have a go at david attenborough.

  • @NoiseBoomer The "arrow to the knee" meme has been done to death but this brought a smile to my face. Touche, good sir.

  • its a parrot?

  • NEK MINUTE

  • @DaveRSander I stand by my comment, but thank you.

  • @thenewmike2012 Actually, no, the lyrebird was making all those actual sounds. I've visited where they live and heard them mimic people talking, babies crying, cameras, and mobile phone ringtones the birds have heard from tourists. They're astonishing creatures.
