They weren't stronger, they simply had more soldiers. Piece by piece, the Gebirgsjaeger were more effective soldiers.

@SZ9000 ..,not even dude. Over 4/5ths of the wehrmacht depended on horse drawn wagons for transportation.

Of the 322 German Army and SS divisions extant in Nov 1943, only 52 were armored or motorized. Of the Nov 1944 total of 264 combat divisions, only 42 were armored or motorized. The great bulk of the German combat strength-the old-type infantry divisions-marched into battle on foot, with their weapons and supply trains propelled almost entirely by four-legged horsepower.

this guyz got great answer from georgians ...we killed them and took them out but may be it was same ussr and nazi germany for us... 300 000 georgian died in ww2 r.i.p rest in peace..

@AyatollahRosenberg Georgians defenately where in this operation. one of the germans mission was to get rid of Chiatura mine which was getting gunpowder ingredients. 70% of whole CCCP . 1000 trained troops where send to stop german operation on caucasus. and after battle at Ferd germans never get to georgia but most of georgians did't return.

Land Forces: SS Army Groups, Panzer Army Groups, Gebirgsjaeger Korps, Fallschirmjaeger Divisions Air Forces: The entire Luftwaffe Navy: Unterseebootflotten Industry: IG Farben, Siemens, BMW, Junkers, Focke-Wulf, Messerschmit, Krupp, Rheinmetall Education: You name it Architecture: Ahem- Albert Speer Clothing: You should know Food: German dairy products anyone? And certainly only few know the big man.

Probably you don't know where is Klukhori pass, who took down the nazi flag from Elbrus , who were svans and what they did in High Caucasus battle. Who organised Caucasus Defend from Soviet side. Read more deeply about this battle. Svans were killing your famous Edelweiss solders, like domestic birds.

@VakhtanGouri What are you talking about??? The Georgians have nothing to do with this operation. The entire Operation Edelweiss by the Gebirgsjager division was conducted on the northern slopes of mount Elbrus and the Main Caucasus Range, on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Circassia.
